How to crop a Myntra label in a few minutes

1. Download the label PDF. Sign in to your Myntra seller or partner portal and open the orders that are ready to be packed. Download the shipping labels for those orders. If your portal lets you select many orders, you can get one file with many labels. Because menus change over time, follow the wording on your own screen.
2. Add the PDF to the tool. Drop it on the upload box at the top of the page, or click the box and select the file. There is no fixed page-count or file-size cap. Very large PDFs depend on available browser/device memory.
3. Choose padding. Normal (6%) is a good default. Tight makes the label bigger on the sticker, which is useful for small bags. Loose adds more white space, which helps if the printer cuts off edges.
4. Choose crop mode. Label only is the default. It keeps the first main section of each page and leaves out an invoice or other text that sits lower down with a clear gap. If your page has only a label, nothing is lost. Choose Keep everything on page if you want all of the printed content.
5. Watch the progress bar. Each page is cropped in turn. Short files finish in seconds, and longer files take a little longer.
6. Print your 4x6 file. The cropped PDF is saved automatically. Open it, check the first label and print it on your 4x6 printer at actual size.

The technology behind the cropping

This section explains what happens when you press upload. You do not need to know it to use the tool, but it explains why the results are consistent and why your data stays private.

Libraries load on demand

The page itself is small. Only after you select a PDF does your browser download two open source libraries: PDF.js, which reads PDF files, and jsPDF, which writes them. If you never choose a file, they are never downloaded.

Finding content by pixels

Every page is drawn on a hidden canvas at a moderate size. The tool inspects the picture and marks any pixel that is not almost white. It then joins the marked rows into sections. A section ends when an empty band taller than about 3.5 percent of the page height is found. Very short sections, under 8 percent of the page height, such as a small header or footer line, are not treated as labels.

Selecting the label

In Label only mode, the first substantial section is used. In Keep everything mode, the tool uses the outer edges of all the content. Your padding choice is added around the chosen area so that thin borders and barcode ends are not clipped.

High-quality redraw

The selected area is drawn again by PDF.js at about 1200 pixels across, which is close to 300 dots per inch on a 4 inch wide sticker. Only this area is redrawn, which saves memory. The image is then placed on a 4x6 inch page, centered, with its proportions unchanged, and added to the output file.

Label dimensions in plain language

A 4x6 label is 4 inches wide and 6 inches tall. It is about the size of a postcard, and it is the most common size for courier labels in India. The table gives the same size in the different units you may see on a label roll or in a printer menu.

For apparel parcels, 4x6 is usually the largest label you would want on a small poly bag. If your bags are very small, you can still use 4x6 and place the label lengthwise along the bag, or choose a smaller label roll and set a custom paper size in the printer. In that case, the 4x6 PDF is scaled by the printer, so check the preview carefully.

Printer setup and print quality

• Use a matching roll. Load 4x6 labels in the printer and select the same size in the print dialog.
• Calibrate. After you change rolls, run the printer's calibration so it learns the sticker length. A mis-calibrated printer prints labels that drift down the sticker.
• Turn off scaling. Choose Actual size or 100 percent. This stops the printer from resizing a label that is already correct.
• Raise darkness for dense barcodes. Fashion labels often carry long reference numbers. If bars look thin or grey, raise darkness by a small step.
• Clean the print head. Wipe it gently with an alcohol swab every few rolls. Dust and adhesive from the labels build up and cause streaks.

Printing a test label at the start of the day is a habit worth building. It takes seconds and tells you whether the roll, the settings and the file are all correct before you commit to a large batch.

Packing tips for Myntra sellers

Fashion shipping has its own rhythm. These suggestions are drawn from common practice and are meant to be adapted to your own business.

• Stick labels on a flat part of the bag. Smooth the poly bag by hand first, then press the label from the centre outwards to avoid air bubbles.
• Keep the barcode away from seals. A label across a heat seal or a tape fold can crack and become unreadable.

Keeping buyer information private

Each label has the buyer's name, address and phone number. Under common data protection practice, you are responsible for looking after that information. Fixing a crop that does not look right

• The label is too small. Try Label only mode and Tight padding. If the PDF contains an invoice with no gap above it, print the invoice separately.
• The label edge is clipped. Use Loose padding to add more space around the content.
• Part of the label is missing. A large empty area inside the label can be read as a gap. Switch to Keep everything on page.
• The PDF will not open. It may be damaged or protected by a password. Download it again or remove the password.
• The progress bar stops. Reload the page and try again with a smaller file. Very large PDFs on older phones can run out of memory.

Handling exchanges, returns and reprints

Fashion has higher return and exchange rates than most other categories, because size and fit are hard to judge online. That has a direct effect on label printing. A seller who ships 100 parcels may also handle a steady stream of returned items, replacement shipments and reprinted labels for parcels that were damaged or lost. A tidy approach to these cases saves time and prevents mistakes.

For a replacement shipment, always download a new label. A label belongs to one specific shipment and one tracking number. If you reuse the old label, the courier's system may reject it or link the parcel to the wrong order. Download the new PDF from your portal, crop it with this tool, and print it like any other label.

For a reprint, such as a label that was smudged or torn before pickup, you can usually download the same label again and crop it once more. Because the cropped PDF is created on your device, you can also keep the file you made earlier and print one page from it. Open the PDF, choose the page range in the print dialog and print only the page you need. This is faster than cropping the whole batch again.

It also helps to keep a small stock of printed labels organised by status. A simple three-tray system works well on a packing table: one tray for labels waiting to be stuck, one for parcels ready for pickup and one for parcels that need attention. Anything that is wrong, such as a label that will not scan, goes into the third tray and is fixed before the pickup agent arrives.

More output sizes and a separate invoice file

The default output is 4x6 inches, but the Output size menu above the upload box also offers 100 x 150 mm, A6, A5, 3 x 5 in, 4 x 4 in and a custom width and height in millimetres. If you print on an ordinary office printer, choose an A4 sheet with 2 or 4 labels and the tool arranges the labels on each sheet so you can cut them apart. If your Myntra PDF has the invoice printed below the label, tick the option to save the invoice part as a separate PDF. The label file downloads as usual, and a Download invoices PDF button appears with the invoice parts on A4 pages. This works in Label only mode and needs a clear empty gap between the label and the invoice. If none is found, the tool tells you.

Choosing between Tight, Normal and Loose padding

The padding option is the only setting most sellers ever change, so it is worth understanding. Padding is a percentage of the detected label size that is added as white space on each side of the label before it is placed on the 4x6 page.

• Tight (2%) leaves almost no extra space. The label is as large as it can be on the sticker. Choose it when your label has a lot of small text that you want to be easier to read, or when the bag is small. The risk is that a printer with slightly misaligned rollers might clip a border.
• Normal (6%) adds a modest margin. It suits nearly every label and printer, and it is the default for that reason.
• Loose (12%) adds a generous margin. Choose it when your printer is old or poorly aligned, when the roll slips a little as it feeds, or when you want a clear white border for handling.

If you are unsure, print one label with the default and look at the edges. If the border line is complete on all four sides, you are fine. If any side is clipped, step up to Loose and try again. If there is a very wide white margin, step down to Tight. Each test costs one sticker and takes under a minute.
